Revenue

Māori translation:
Definition

Revenue is the total income generated by a public company from its business activities during each quarter. This figure is reported in the company's quarterly earnings reports, and includes all sales and other income sources before any expenses are deducted (such as for operations or debt). Revenue is an important indicator of a company's financial performance, and it’s closely monitored by investors and analysts to show whether a company is growing and is profitable.

We acknowledge and thank the FMA, Dr Karena Kelly and Brook Taurua Grant, the RBNZ and the Māori Dictionary for their research which helped us with te Reo Māori kupu for this glossary.
